Drug Awareness Poster Contest Winners Announced

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has always
believed that our nationís youth are our future and have
provided and supported programs for youth as a large part of their mission. Leecburg Elks this year was involved in many youth programs, including; Scouting, the Hoop Shoot, Little League, scholarships, and Drug Awareness, Drug Awareness Chairman, Anthony Shea Jr. recently visited Leechburg Elementary School to announce the winners of this years Poster Contest which was open to all students in the Alle-Kiski Area in the 3rd to 6th grades. First place winners for 2009 are; 3rd grade, Matt McCorkle; 4th grade, Kasey Klapheke; 5th grade, Natalie Geminetti; and 6th grade, Cynthia Yurga. Each of these students has been invited, along with their parents, as
guests of the Lodge to the Leechburg Elks Mothers Day Dinner and Awards Ceremony on May 10th, where they will receive Certificates of Achievement and $50 U.S. Saving Bonds. These winning posters have been entered into the State Drug Awareness poster competition.
